Kuboraum
Kuboraum designs its frames as masks: oversized, geometrically fearless, avant-garde eyewear built to redraw the face around it — closer to an art object than an accessory.
Dreamed in Berlin and handmade in Italy, each mask is hand-cut from acetate and finished so the metals feel already lived-in. Try one on and watch the room recalibrate.
Where can I buy Kuboraum in South Africa?
Kuboraum is stocked at OPTIK, Shop SL24, Melrose Arch, Johannesburg — next door to Woolworths. Optik is a proudly authorised Kuboraum stockist, with every frame sourced directly from the house or its authorised distributor. Come in to try them on, or enquire on WhatsApp and we'll help you find the right pair.
Why are Kuboraum frames called masks?
Kuboraum means cubic room, and each frame is designed as a mask — built to reveal the wearer's character rather than hide the face, closer to an art object than an accessory.
Where are Kuboraum glasses made?
In Italy — each frame is hand-cut and hand-polished from Italian acetate in small workshops, to a design conceived in Berlin. The work is deliberately manual, so no two are quite identical.
Can Kuboraum frames take prescription lenses?
Yes — most of the optical masks can be fitted with your prescription. Optik partners with trusted specialist optical laboratories for the lens manufacturing, while our team handles the measurements, lens selection, frame assessment and final quality check.
